No Quarter.

My Led Zeppelin book is amazing. I’m actually really glad I wasted my money on it – it’s got like everything about them in it, and it’s so detailed. I’m on page 117, which is really good seeing as I have exams going on. But anyway, it’s got some different bits that were not in Hammer Of The Gods, so I’m learning even more about them. If you know of any other really good Led Zeppelin book, let me know. I want to read them all!

Anyway, I kind of made a fail post yesterday. Plus, I totally forgot to tell you what I watched Friday night. I’ll do a mini review.  I guess.

So on Friday, me and my dad watched some Popeye cartoons. We watched a documentary on the making of the three longer Popeye features, and then we watched Popeye The Sailor Meets Sinbad The Sailor. After that we watched Window Washers, which was just another short cartoon.

Then we watched Fanboys, which I’ll do the review on:

Overall, the movie was AMAZING. It’s about these four guys, who were obsessive Star Wars fans when they were growing up – and still are. When they were in the fifth grade, and had heard about the new Star Wars movie coming out (Episode 1), they couldn’t wait. (The movie was supposed to come out in like 10 years or something). So they made plans to break into the Skywalker ranch.

Years later, the guys meet up again, and kind of get back together. They re-discover the map, and decide to actually go on the road trip to steal the movie.

It was really good – a lot of Star Wars jokes. The one guy, Linus, has cancer – and he like passes out when they’re in Las Vegas, and he gets taken to the hospital. Guess who’s playong the doctor? Carrie Fisher. They end up breaking out of the hospital, and she stops them, and allows Linus to leave, if he takes these pills. So Linus kisses the doctor, and he’s just like “I Love You” and Carrie’s like “I Know”, and it was just so funny.

I also really liked it when they were fighting with the Trekkies.

Of course, you have to have seen the movies to get most of the jokes and stuff. But it was really funny.

The Ramones Are Yankees.

January 29, 2011

It was so disappointing to hear that. Like, I really thought they were so mod, and, like, British. But Yankees? They were just trying to mimic that whole scene. Back off.

Exams are going alright. I’ve done English and French – so two to go.

Drowning in Magazines

January 19, 2011

Yes. That exactly true. Teen Vogue came in yesterday, and today, I was surprised by Fashion, and my Lego Club thing. The Fashion issue was really old. For some reason I got it late. Whatever. It’s all good.

I love school bands. They are so good. That song whatever up there is The Wizard, by one of my school’s bands.

Anyway, here is my list of things not to do.

– Commit suicide. Or try to. Don’t be like that kid in Charlie Bartlett. Man, he was lucky. But you may not be.

– Do drugs. They are not cool.

– Smoke

I’m hot for teacher.

January 19, 2011

Well, not really. Most of my teachers are female. But – do you guys get it? I was listening to the Van Halen song. Whatever.

I’m still sick, in a way. I cam home today and crashed. Like – crashed. I slept for two hours. No joke. Schools that hard on you.

I have to pick next years classes soon. What am I gonna take? I don’t know. Like, electives wise. When we went down to the assembly, the guy was like, you guys get THREE electives in grade ten. And I was like HOLY MAMMOTH! This year we got to pick two (like for grade nine). So I look at the choices, and there is like billions of choices.

I have the streams figured out for the compulsory courses I have to take. But the electives – man!

I’m taking drama, that’s been decided. But then there’s Spanish, gym, Guitar and the two electives I took this year. And there’s CRAFTS! A WHOLE COURSE ON CRAFTS! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? And music and plain old art.

How can I decide? It’s too hard, literally.

Back in the U.S.S.R.

School is cruel. But it can be very rewarding.. I guess. In English we had to pick a monolouge from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and memorize it. Now, since memorizing is pretty natural for me – I wasn’t scared.

But let me tell you – when you’re up there – you often screw up, which is natural unless you’re an alien. I guess you could say that I forgot two lines of my monolouge, and yeah. The worst part was that my teacher told me to go first. 😛

But it was rewarding because I got full marks on it ….. so give me a virtual high five. Oh, and my french is sitting at an 86, which is okay – like, standard for me at the end of the year, but there’s time to raise it. Up.

Message of the day: DON’T do Heroin. Or Cocaine. Or Speedballs. Why would you screw up your life? Yes – my Idols are druggies. But I don’t idol them for that. I idol them for their musical abilities and yes, they are inspirational.

If you want to know what happened today – nothing much. Typical school day- my English teacher threw an essay on us 😦 That’s what grade 9 is like, I guess. But the worst part of it is the freaky exams that are coming up. I hate studying, so I’m gonna have to work hard to do really well.

If any of you care – I found my newest song obssesion – Wheels Of Thunder – by – Helix. I’m to lazy to post a you-tube link.

Such a beautiful song. So I just want to thank Dylan and Guns for making it possible. Maybe you’ll sing it for me sometime?

Fat chance. But I can dream, right?

Just found out today that the Monsterpalooza? (definitely spelled wrong), is a go. Looks like I’ll be hitting the west coast in April? My dad said it’s a perfect opportunity to meet these famous people. Me? Getting to meet Rick Baker? That’s so cool!

Anyway, we have a packed itinerary. Hopefully I can convince mu dad to go to Disneyland. Though I went to Disneyworld last year 😛

We also plan to check out some famous buildings – and sunset strip! Woo – hoo! Maybe I’ll get lucky and Steven Alder will be playing a show there (the whiskey), and we’ll go.
